(1) What's your idea of a 'safe space' during these times?

I have a confession: my current idea of safe spaces has transformed into quick showers and toilet breaks. During the onset of pandemic, working at home took a toll on me. I was basically used to working remotely, outside residential contexts – provided office spaces, quaint coffee shops, accessible indoor gardens, and busy commercial spaces, among others. This transitory aspect gave me distinct boundaries between personal and professional. I basically do not work at home, most of the time then. The concept of home has always been linked to my idea of a safe space, perhaps a space for me, being me, without having to think of the work I do which highly involves conversations and connections. Showers and toilet breaks have been cues for relief and detachment from everything. For a quick moment, all I think about is myself. Does this resonate, in any way? What’s your idea of a ‘safe space’ during these times? - Alain
