The focus of this writing lesson is learning how to link similar ideas. Study the HOW TO box on page 58 to find new ways of linking similar ideas together. Try to use the grammatical structures learned in Unit 5 in your answer. Use the passive voice wherever possible. See the sample description below for examples and study page 53. Give reasons and explanations using in order to or so that. See page 55 for help with this. Remember to use the Words & Beyond lists from page 134 to help you find new vocabulary for this task.
Write about 120 words.
Always use paragraphs: It doesn’t matter what type of writing you are doing (eg story, article, blog), you should always use paragraphs. Start a new paragraph for each new point or subject. And make sure you plan your writing paragraph by paragraph. Using paragraphs makes your writing easier to follow and shows you know how to structure ideas.
Think about the target reader and the reason for writing: An essay is usually written for your teacher and is about a serious subject. This type of writing uses formal language. A magazine article needs to be interesting so the reader wants to read on. This type of writing uses informal, more colourful language. Always think about why you’re writing and use the correct register, formal, neutral or informal.

A place I really like is the city centre. I go there with my friends on Saturdays in order to have fun in the shops and cafés that are located there.
The city centre is great. It's busy and there are many sights, sounds and smells for the senses. My friends and I meet at our favourite café, where delicious food is also served. We eat something and then look around the shops too. When you're walking around town, you see lots of people in fashionable clothes. You can also hear people talking and laughing. Although the city centre can be dirty and sometimes crowded, I save my pocket money every week so that I can go there. For me, it's a special place because I like to be among lots of people.

One place I really like is the coast park. I go often with my best friends, like Mile, Aguativia, Martu, etc. I love getting on roller coasters and simulators. It's very fun and cute. The bad thing is that there are always a lot of people and it takes a lot to get into a game. I love the smell of popcorns that is in the park. but I hate to hear so much noise. the roller coaster is very clean and maintained. the simulators are very funny but they are scared. in order to enjoy more roller coasters, I go on a times that there aren’t many people like at 11am. I cant go very often because it is very expensive but when I go I enjoy it a lot.

A place I really like is Argentina. I really like it because I live there, the food is very nice, my favourite food is barbecue and my favourite drink is "mate", the people who live there is very friendly and pretty, and when you have to ask them about a where are located some places, they take time to help you. I live in te city of Argentina "Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos". The Obelisco was built in this city in the year 1936.

New York is a place I really like. I went there 2 years ago. In order to go I had to skip one school trip I really were excited pf going. But, New York it’s New York.

The place I like the most was the Soho neighborhood. There you have plenty of shops, cafes or anything you like. It’s very busy, but it’s not the busiest part of the city, and I also like busy places. There is also lots of noises. I remember eating in a great Spanish restaurant and in a great pasta restaurant too in that neighborhood.

My father had to save a lot of money so that we could go, but it was totally worth it, we had a great timer.

The place that I visited all months and I really love is New York. ~~The~~ next week I will go there in order to visit my grandparents! I am ansious. I go with my cousin and a friend. The plane leaves at 5 am so we have to get up early. The plane arrives there at 5 pm, but I don´t know exactly.

~~The~~ last month, when I went, the travel in the plane was good. Not excelent. The sites were small but the food and the equipment was really well. We watched movies all the time when a boy shouts and said that the plane was broken. We started shoting but this isn´t true. All was good. I hope this travel is calm.

When we arrived, we will go to the hotel. The hotel is in 5th Avenue. Near there are shops, museum, etc. This hotel is beautiful, I suppossed.

With my friend and my cousin, we said that we want to buy clothes and go to Central Park, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, etc.

We will pass a good time!

A place I really like is Villa La Angostura. I go every holiday with my family, in order to spend time with my family.

I like going to the mountains, and ski with my family in summer we go to the beach and eat sandwiches’ or go to my uncle´s restaurant so that we can eat for free.

When you are walking around the town in Christmas you can see a lot of decorations around the town.

A place I really like is Argentina, I live there, it is very beautiful.

Argentina has many beautiful places to visit, museums and there are many beautiful provinces like Mendoza, Neuquen, Salta, Buenos Aires, Etc and there are many beautiful places like Bariloche, Mendoza, San Salvador de Jujuy, Cordoba. The rulers of those cities were put in that position by the people.
Now in Buenos Aires there are special bus lanes in order to improve the traffic

A place I really like it´s New York, I love it. Last year I went to New York because I loved the sight, and smell the donuts and the café. I went whit my family in order to have fun and so that I can buy a lot of things.

There you can do a lot of things, playing football I broke my finger, the ball was touched only by me, so I had to go to the hospital so that I can enjoy the trip.

When it cames the night my family and I went to a restaurant. The shops are incredible because it had a lot of things to buy. New York will surprised you.

Disneyland, at these days, an amusement park. Was created in honor to the great Walt Disney, the founder of this big franchise.
It has approximately 80 games and attractions. In addition to lodging so that you can stay in theirs parks and enjoy of the tematics restaurants and markets full of exclusively Disney merchandise.

 Depends of the day it can stay open the whole day or it can closes before the sun comes down. In order to ensure your stay is enjoyable and enjoy attractions at any time, there are always parades and fireworks

I love one place of the city, I really love It… It´s the beautiest place I know and It´s the park where I grew up. When I was a little girl, I went there every day except on sundays that I went to my country club. There were some flowers that I put It on my nose and I smell It very well. There also were an Ice cream salesman that he always gave me free Ice creams, I always tasted them a very long time. But the most beautifull thing there were the rabbits, they were very soft! Obviously, they were touched only by me because when I saw them I fall In love with them. But some mans closed the park so that they could do a shopping mall there, and I cried ahead of them in order to give them pity and cancel the close of the park. But It wasn´t like that…

A place I really like is New York, I went there eith my family when there were holidays, in order to had fun and had a good time in family, also to had time to do shopping in different places that are located there.

The city is it great, but it is busy, there are many persons, shops, and people that do shows in the Street. Also there are many sigths, sounds and smells for the senses. We went to a restaurant that the waiters sing when you are having dinner, where delicious food is also served. To go to that restaurante you have to do a very long line because mny people wnted to go there.

There is a Street that is call Time Square, it is the most important and famous Street on New York. The people there is laughing and they dress like they want. We saved money so that we can bought many things.

New York it is a amazing city I love that place, and I want yo go again. There are many things like the Empire state, central park, statue of Liberty, Time Square, Brooklyn bridge, and another thing

A place that I really like is Miami, is a place that is in the United States. A place I really like is Mexico. I had the oportunity to go to an all inclussive hotel. The food was excelent! The food that is always eaten here is tacos. Many sauces are hot spicy and they really spicy. They are made with Jalapeño.
The hotel was incredible.It was in the beach and there was mini water games for kids. Also, if you wanted, you could go to a bar that was in the swimming pool so you could swim while you were drinking what you want.
At night, special dinners were made in the hotel. You could go to the japanese dinner or italian dinner.
While you where walking in the hotel you could found giant lizards! I gave them bananas.

A place I really like is the Solar shoping in order to get some new clothes. It is near to my house and sometimes I go with my friends or with my sisters. Some restaurants and coffee shops are located there.
It is a very colorful place and have some perfume shops were are a lot of fragances, many of them are promoted by celebrities.
There is a place for the kids to play and have fun, there are two slides, a little house and a place to paint.

I love to walk around the shoping and find a los of things.

I go there since I was little, and I have many memories there.

I really like the city of “Las Vegas” because I always go out with my Friends at night to a bar who was built by twelve men’s in 1993. I work very hard so that I can go out with my Friends every week.

In this place, a thief had stolen me, now, the government put more security in order to
decrease the amount
of theft. I really like go there because very delicious food and drinks are served here.

But the thing who I most like is to see MMA, I usually go twice a month with my brother, we like a man who is called Connor McGregor, he is the winner of this tournament but next week is the final with Jose Aldo, he had won MMA in 2012 and is very funny. I recommend to visit here.

My favourite place is my club called Cissab.
I started going when I was six years old. In Cissab I played footbal and tennis to have fun. Now I am playing basket.
In Cissab I made a lot of friends and on the last year a second cousin moved to my club, we play footbal and walk a lot every weekend. and when I was younger my friends and I did bike races.
At Saturday nights my friends and me go to restaurants or order food by delivery.
A new stadium was built so that children can practise more sports.
All the weekends there are special children´s activities. This activities are planed by teenagers.
My club is a special place for me because there I have fun every weekend.
