Mid-tech devices are electronic in nature but are less expensive than high tech devices and tend to be focused on a single task. High-tech devices are items that are based on sophisticated technology. All are tools that can help students in special education. Each tool serves a unique purpose. The core board concept I believe is great for the use in the classroom, it can provide students who are non verbal with an effective way to communicate. In the classroom, for a student who is deaf (or Deaf) or hard of hearing, there are a variety of AT tools that would be beneficial, each ranging from low, mid, or high tech tools.
