Players will monitor themselves and their opponents to evaluate and use it to progress. Tennis players will preform and decipher their strengths and weaknesses, same as their opponents. A common question asked in tennis is “How many unforced errors where there?” Or “What was my serve percentage?” Not only do players use statistics in the game, but also the viewers. Seeing a players statistics can better their decision on what player to cheer for or whom to bet on.

With the help of statistics, a player can improve and eliminate room for fault. It’s extremely beneficial to know what your opponents strengths and weaknesses are. For example, your opponent tends to play up close to the net so they can hit at more angles and give you less reaction time. By knowing what to look out for can improve a player’s game tremendously.

Due to friction, the ball is estimated to lose about 45% of is power when it meets the rackets net. This collision is important to prevent uncontrollable or unwanted speed or direction. Depending on the rate to ball is coming at or location on the court, the players will decipher the amount of force needed when swinging the racket. It’s desired to hit the ball with a certain amount or force and angle to serve right above the net. This makes it harder for the player to hit the ball back, similar to volleyball.

It is extremely important to use every muscle in the body at every second during the game of tennis. When running around the court it gives the player more control of there speed, and where and when they need to stop or go. When winding back the arm, the muscles through out the upper body need to be flexed. Not only does it give your swing and racket the structure and strength it need, but it is important for control. Lesson or increase the amount of power behind your swing or racket to hit the ball back however fast, hard, and wherever it needs to be. The position of your body and swing also the determine your game.

A tennis court is a structured rectangle made of more rectangles. Lines and boundaries give the game itself structure. The players are confined in a certain place, certain places in the court give different effects on the play of the game. Being closer to the net and more center gives the players an infinite number of angle’s to where the ball can go and less reaction time for the other play.

The place where the ball hits the racket is one of the most important factors of the game. There is one place on the racket the ball should meet every time, the middle. The middle of the racket gives the ball the most energy, control, and equal distribution of power to the ball. Hitting the ball closer to the edges makes the racket and your body absorb the energy of the collision uneven and disrupts strength.

Angling the racket the slightest directs the ball in a certain direct. The point and angle where the meets determines the point where the ball will reach.
