-Genetic Engineering: In the future, it is likely that infants will have much less disease and disabilities due to genetic engineering.
-Nanotechnology: Nanotechnology also will have some benefits in the medical field because microrobots will be able to deliver medicine in ways that are not available now.
-Robotics: Robots that are going to be way smarter than we have today will definitely make our lives easier, especially common tasks that people don't like to do like laundry.

-Genetic Engineering: The problem with genetic engineering is the idea of designer babies, and the fact that parents at some point could just create what they want. Diversity in general would decrease.
-Nanotechnology: If nanotechnology advances to the point where we rely on it for medicine, it could create some unseen medical issues in our body.
-Robotics: The classic fear of robots becoming too advanced is that they will terminate our race, but the more likely thing is that we start to rely on robots for everything we do and become lazy as a species.

Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future?

I am mostly optimistic about the future because we know some of the benefits that these technologies can have if they get to a certain point, but it's hard to visualize all of the problems that comes with these technologies. The medical field will benefit so much from genetic engineering and nanotechnology, and there is a world where we eliminate things like brain diseases.
