Hi everyone! I discovered I have a photographic memory recently while studying for my French Linguistics class. Following the pandemic, I had to get back into the routine of note taking and preparing for assessments. I found that handwriting notes after I would type them up, helped me retain information. Doing this, would help me see my notes and diagrams in my head. - Yosheena

Prior to my teaching degree, I graduate with my Bachelors of Interior Design and had the opportunity to work with companies in Cabo Mexico and Cortona Italy! I spent 2 years working as an interior designer before I decided to go back to school to be a teach teacher :) - Alexandra

In my undergrad I studied Photogrpahy, and during my last year for our thesis we were supposed to make a photobook. My book explored my fear of growing up and coming to terms with it. I was a chef

In my early years in university, I found my passion of cooking and worked my way up in the ranks to become a sous chef. The work was grueling, the pay was terrible, and the hours were isolating, so I left to finish my undergrad. But I do miss making genuine art through food, seeing the reaction of people loving the food I created, playing with different combination of indigents to make something new and fusing cuisines together.

I won an award for a research paper

I submitted a paper I wrote during my undergrad to an international research competition and ended up winning! It was a discourse analysis on sentiments of reconciliation on social media, revealing some of the social realities that exist in discussion of truth and reconciliation. The awards ceremony was 2 weeks ago in Dublin, Ireland, and was one of the best experiences of my life.
