It is a valuable way for group members to weigh in on a subject asynchronously and then review and digest different perspectives before coming together synchronously. I think that Padlet connects to the ISTE Student Standard, "Creative Communicator" and in particular indicators 6c and 6d. Through Padlet (with clear directions and guidelines), students can communicate complex ideas by creating digital objects. It allows students to learn about digital citizenship, privacy, media literacy, cyber bullying, ethics/copyright as well as information literacy through video lessons. There is a section for teacher to facilitate this learning and also a space for students. This website is a great resource for teachers to use to teach digital citizenship. 

This resources allows for students to achieve the following Digital Citizen indicators: 

-2a. Students cultivate and manage their digital identity and reputation and are aware of the permanence of their actions in the digital world.

-2b Students engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.

-2c Students demonstrate an understanding of and respect for the rights and obligations of using and sharing intellectual property.

-2D. Students manage their personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and are aware of data-collection technology used to track their navigation online.
