Debbie Caruana Dingli was born in 1962 in Siggiewi, Malta.

She is an artist and represents the fourth generation of artists in her family.

Painting has always been a natural part of her life. She mainly works with watercolours and is especially known for her watercolour portraits.

Debbie graduated from the Government School of Art in 1980. Later, she got a diploma in cartooning (the art of drawing comics and cartoons) from the International Correspondence School in the United Kingdom.

After discovering this technique, she has developed a strong passion for watercolours.

She uses bright colours to express strong and direct emotions in her portraits.

Her cartoons are really special. They show Debbie’s satirical side and reflect problems in our society. She is not afraid to talk about important topics such as: illegal immigration or childhood obesity.

She says:
