As a young Black Muslim born in Canada to immigrant parents from Somalia, my personal view of diversity is deeply rooted with my identity and experiences. To me, diversity represents varied of cultures, languages, and traditions, each contributing to the rich national diversity that makes up Canadian society. It embodies the strength found in our differences, fostering understanding and empathy among individuals from various backgrounds.

Growing up, I witnessed the beauty of multiculturalism firsthand, where my family’s Somali heritage coexists with the many cultures that shape Canada. This blend has taught me the importance of acceptance and the value of learning from others’ experiences.
