The use of storybooks as the main teaching materials is impressive. They have developed a comprehensive school-based curriculum and they give ample opportunities to students to practise English authentically. The school has created a rich language environment and they put lots of efforts in decorations and creating the language atmosphere.

I'd like to know more about the assessment and how they fill the gaps when they move up from junior to senior levels.

The teachers there are very professional and they are willing to take the challenges. They incorporate school-based curriculum and e-learning meaningfully. The Principal has clear mind and she is decisive in allocating resources and she gives sufficient support to the team. The Panel Heads are professional in implementing and monitoring the scheme.

The reader program for junior levels is very comprehensive. The curriculum is continuously being developed and revamped. The activities are diversified as well, which is very impressive. English is promoted using whole-school approach in an all-round manner. Everyone including the helper at the tuck shop is putting effort to put Ss in an authentic English-speaking effort.

Who is involved in the reading skills framework, curriculum planning and reader selection? Who shall initiate the entire thing?

When is the ideal time to start the very first meeting if the reading curriculum like yours will be implemented in the coming academic year? Or shouldn’t it be the case because the plan takes a long period of time like a few years?

Can the new teachers adapt to the very special curriculum well?

This is always my ‘dream’ to use readers as School based curriculum which makes reading authentic. Nothing better than read story books or prints to make reading useful. They well use readers to as learning materials and assessments. That’s impressive.
