My goals for lessons this year is to get my audition pieces ready. As I'm preparing to apply to 4 year colleges, I must also go through the audition process and want to have a solid repertoire and solid playing in order to achieve the best out come. Another is to have an emphasis on the rhythmic side of percussion, secure my skills in snare drum and have a greater focus on timpani skills, as theses are my weaker points. Something else I want to achieve is having better sight reading. Percussion is known for having bad sight readers, so I want to be able to break out of this and be confident in my playing, even on first view of a piece.

My repertoire is coming together as expected. I'm almost done completely learning and memorizing all the song that need to. By the end of the month Ill be moving onto my next phase of developing my skills through practice of my repertoire. My timpani playing to me seems to have gotten better, as well as my sight reading for round percussion instruments. I defiantly put to use the slowing down, and chunking system approach to my playing and it helped me progress in my work. Now that I'm about complete with learning my auditions repertoire, my new goal is to get them performance ready.
