This show is important to me and has helped me decide what I want to do in the future. I've always known that I want to do something related to the field of Criminal Justice or Forensics. Watching NCIS and all the forensic work and work with other agencies like the FBI, CIA and international agencies has made me especially interested in working for a government agency when I'm older. Since I've wanted to work in a math field as well I am especially interested when the characters call in forensics accountants to do special work for money related crimes where a suspect could be keeping money in an offshore account or to find a suspect with a money trail. I remember in first grade, reading was really difficult for me. As someone whos first language was not English, I had a hard time catching up to everyone else especially after going to a Portuguese preschool and mainly speaking Portuguese at home. I used this program called RAZ Kids to get me caught up and by sixth grade I read a total of 40 books like The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson and Divergent series and a lot more difficult books. The Maze Runner in particular is special to me because I would read it with my dad and it was something we both shared interest and spent time together doing. In the Maze Runner, Thomas and his other friends from the maze have to use teamwork to work together and survive. The lyrics "what a feeling to be right here beside you now" reminds me of how important it is to live in the moment and appreciate the people in your life and what they mean to you. When I think of this song it reminds me of driving home in the convertable with the roof down and music blasting with my two best friends over the summer. This song is a good example of how making memories with my friends and living in the moment is one of the most important things to me. My favorite trip every year is my trip to Portugal over the summer to visit my family. I love getting to spend time with my family overseas and I think it is so important that I get to see and experience the places where my parents grew up. Their childhoods were much different than mine and I love hearing stories from when they were kids and how I could possibly relate it to my own life. This picture and Portugal in general is a reminder that going back to your roots and learning about your family’s culture is very important.
