♡ Salon Amable is a project focused on massages as tools for rest and healing, in a safe space to lie down and enjoy.

♡ With my friend Poni, we have develop a collage and fanzine workshop in order to activate the imagination, dialogue and above all to express multiple narratives through collage and self-publishing (zine).

♡ Finally I am part of a burlesque company called Las Pantis de la Luna, we want to celebrate queer joy, collaborate with LGBTIQ+ artists and explore the sensuality outside heterosexual norms.

Of course to collaborate with the different artists invited to DOD2.

I am a descendant of Indian indentured labourers in South Africa - once slavery was abolished, the British sugarcane industry still needed labour on the fields. Many of those enslaved refused to work on plantations, so the British turned to cheap and exploited labourers from South Asia who were sent to South Africa to build the sugar industry here [learning from Mauritius and other plantation economies like in the Carribbean]. Many of these folks were Bahujan/Dalit, as you can see in some of our spiritual/religious traditions. My writing work seeks to uncover the afterlives of indentureship and apartheid in South Africa + unpack Afro-Asian identities, solidarities and ruptures in region. Women, femmes and queer people are always my focus, as we are often erased or deliberately hidden in the archives. I'm a part of the Kutti Collective too, a group of queer Indian South African artists and cultural workers, and this collage comes from a Palestine solidarity art show we took part in to raise funds for our kin in Gaza. --> https://www.instagram.com/kutticollective/

With my friend and feminist comrade Rosebell Kagumire , we curate, AfricanFeminism (AF) https://africanfeminism.com/ -a pan-African feminists digital platform and collaborative writing project between African authors/writers with the long-term ambition of bringing on board at least one feminist voice from each country on the continent.
