The main characters I noticed were Conner, his mother, his father, and the bullies, and his old best friend.
The settings in which the story most took place so far were Conner's house, and his school. I wonder... Will the monster come back? Was the monster part of a dream? Did he make up the monster? I believe that the monster will appear again the next night, and do the same thing. Another prediction I have is that Conner will get bullied again the next day.

Why did the monster choose to tell Connor the first story in specific? I think that it's because the monster knows how especially hard of a time that Connor is having accepting the fact that his grandma is visiting and wants him to come back with her. He knows that Connor believes that his grandma is the villain. So, he tells him that particular story to show him in a way that his grandmother is not the bad guy/ villain. Also to show him another side of the story to kind of accept the fact that he may need to worry about someone else. A prediction I can make is that Connor may be more careful at school around the bullies and eventually speak up. Another one that I can make is that he can try to see his grandmother's side of the story a little bit better than before.

Why did Connor's grandmother react the way that she did when she found her living room destroyed? First, I think that she screamed because normally everything is so clean and neat and perfect and now it's the opposite. Maybe another reason why she acted that way is because her daughter is so sick and she hates that so she just wanted to come home and relax but she can't do that when her living room is trashed. I also think that she may have screamed because it is something that she would have never expected. To explain what I was saying earlier, his grandma may have too much on her plate right now with her daughter being sick and Connor's dad who she didn't like came around, and she was really counting on Connor to make things easy for her but then she found her room destroyed.

I feel like so far has been leading up to his mother's death which will have the biggest impact on Conor. Now I believe that this grandma was crying in her bed because she found out that the medicine isn't working AND he destroyed her room. Next, I believe that Conor's 4th tail is going to be his nightmare... I think he is afraid of his mother dying. First because he uses the word "she" when the hands slipped out of his. also, because of how Conor never really wants to hear that she's dying/ refuses to believe it.

The first tale was about the evil wife who took over for the queen and how the prince killed his own love in order to get rid of the queen. This relates to Conor's experiences because at the time of the monster telling him this story, he was believing that his own grandmother was like the queen... evil. So, this story taught him that he may feel like his grandmother is evil, in reality she is just trying to help him. The monster told him this story because Conor is mixing up who is bad and who isn't kind of like the prince. Overall, This story relates to Conor's experiences because he views his grandmother as evil when all she's trying to do is take care of him.

The second tale was about how there was an apothecary who rejected helping the selfish parson who begged of his solution only this once. This shows that the parson only believes in the solution when it could actually benefit him. This relates to Conor's experiences because it shows how he himself is being a bit selfish since he is trying his best to reject the help of his grandmother and refuses that his mother is close to death. Also, he was being very selfish when he wanted to move in with his father, and when his father said that there wasn't enough room for him, he got extremely upset. Overall, This tale reflects Conor's experiences because at times he can be selfish when things involve his mother.

The third tale was about the invisible man, and how he made others "see him". The invisible man relates to Conor in the way that nobody really saw him while he was in school/ outside of the house. This relates to Conor's experiences because he felt that ever since his mother got sick, he was invisible and all everybody else saw was the son of the mother with cancer. So, the invisible man is similar to Conor because he barely talked to anyone once his mother was put in the hospital again, it says that in the book. Overall, the combination of his mom getting sick, and barely any interaction with anyone except for the bullies made him feel as if no one saw him, as if he were invisible.
