  • Work through this PowerPoint presentation about quoted speech.  
  • At the end of the presentation, you'll see a photo of a man and a woman. 
  • Use your imagination and think of a short dialogue about what might be happening in the photo.
  • Write your short dialogue in a separate post on this padlet.
  • Refer to the chart on page 258 in your textbook when you write your dialogue.

    • Example: 
    Mary said, " I can't believe we missed the airport bus!  We'll never get home on time."

    John replied, "It's not my fault.  I was up early.  YOU were the one who had to put on tons of makeup and drink that extra cup of coffee at the restaurant."

    "I can't believe you just said that, John,"  Mary cried.  " I have to look good all the time because I'm a model."
