I really enjoyed the Compass presentation

One of the interesting facts I learned today was that shark's skeleton is made up of cartilage and not bone like most animals.

Manta Rays used to be classified as part of the genus Manta. In 2017-18 a new study came out based on the analysis of the Manta's DNA, concluding it was actually very similar to the rays on the genus Mobula. Due to that, scientifically, Mantas were moved to the genus Mobula, which contains a few species, like:
Mobula tarapacana
Mobula thurstoni
Mobula mobular
Mobula birostris*
Mobula alfredis*

The last two are the two species of what we commonly call Manta Rays. Before they used to be Manta birostris and Manta alfredis, but now the categorisation has changed.
