In 7th grade, I moved to a public school. I was very nervous about what people were going to think of me. All of the what if's came into my head. My family kept telling me that if people didn't like me that was their fault. I couldn't do anything about it. I was also confused because students were disrespecting their teachers and the physical fights between students. 

How does this relate to the theme?

I was happy because he abused me and was very rude to me at a young age but I was also confused because he said that he still wanted my brother. In my head, you either want both of your kids or you want none. I just didn't know what I did so I kept blaming everything on myself and saying that it was my fault when it wasn't. My family is always there to listen to me and what I have to say.

I understood what it meant but I also didn't. The first thing I remember saying is "are you going to die?" My mom didn't answer. When my mom was on Chemo and doing radiation, my family was not sure if she was going to make it. All of my family came together and we supported each other when we were going through a tough time. We kept telling each other that we were all in it together and that no matter what we would always have each other. 

How does this relate to my theme? 

This relates to my theme because without my family I wouldn't have been able to make it myself.
