Kimberle Crenshaw is a civil rights advocate and scholar. She has written books and held speeches about the discrimination against minorities. Specializing in the discrimination of races and women.

She is very important in the discussion of intersectionality. A term she coined herself. She's written many works on the topic of intersectionality and how it effects the lives on minorities and why intersectionality is important.

Intersectionality is important and relevant today. Being able to consider the overlaps in social categories that are often discriminated against helps to understand discrimination, power, and privilege.
