Through the perspective of Agenda Setting theory, contemporary Philippine pop culture, especially in the area of komiks (comics), has demonstrated its transformative influence in society. According to this hypothesis, pop culture and the media can shape public opinion by influencing the subjects and problems that people find significant. By bringing important social and political issues to light, writers and artists have achieved establishing the agenda in the context of Philippine komiks. For instance, Manix Abrera's "Kiko Machine" and other works have addressed a variety of topics related to Filipino society, including politics and daily life. These cartoons have the power to spark debates and inspire critical thinking in readers, which will eventually result in a better informed and involved populace.

Additionally, the impact of komiks in the Philippines is not confined to print media; it also permeates the internet realm. The popularity and influence of these comics have increased thanks to social media sites like Facebook, where a large quantity of Filipino artists and komiks makers share their creations. By addressing significant themes like governmental corruption, gender injustice, and socioeconomic inequity through Agenda Setting, Komiks has influenced public opinion and brought about change. They are now an effective instrument for mobilizing Filipinos to take action, promote unity, and increase awareness. Thus, contemporary Philippine pop culture—particularly that of komiks—contributes significantly to shaping national policy and delivery changes in several facets of Filipino society.
