Are mobile phones affecting our sleep patterns? Recent research conducted in the UK in Wales on younger teenagers identifies that 1 in 3 young people regularly check their social media and alerts during the night. The study also suggests that girls were more likely than boys to be using social media during the night.
My research project will question adults on their use of their mobilein bed and during the night.
The survey will also question how refreshed the participant feel when waking up in the morning.
This research will question how much time adults spend on social media at night times, and if night time mobile phone use eats into downtime and sleep patterns. This study will aim to find a correlation between the use of mobile phones late at night and the feelings of tiredness the following day.

Taking our phones to bed to use as an alarm is something many people do. This means that the phone is never far away. This study will focus on investigating the nightly usage of social and other forms of media. How many times do individuals check their phone notifications in the evening and during the night. Or do not check the lateness as browsing takes over. Are individuals falling asleep or passing out. Does that in turn affect the feeling of being refreshed.
