Over a million people from all over the world have shared their memories, thoughts, and feelings about Steve. One thing they all have in common — from personal friends to colleagues to owners of Apple products — is how they’ve been touched by his passion and creativity. You can view some of these messages below.
And share your own at rememberingsteve@apple.com

Thank you for changing our lives in such an extraordinary way.

Stephen

Steve's Gift

He was a real-life Prometheus, bringing the fire of imagination to the world...and the world was changed forever!

Jennifer

Jiaqi Zhang - Iphone 4s = Iphone for Steve

I have just heard that the Lord has bought you to him. I hope you everything well. In fact, you are the person who inspired me well. I heard about lots of your story. Those stories inspired me to come to the USA to fulfill my dream. I have bought your Iphone 4 on Sep.13, 2011, I hope you and apple will make another milestone in the future. Unfortunately, the God is so like you that he has to take you there. I hope you are happy in the heaven, and use your genius and spirit to continue guide Apple to another top. My english is not as good as US citizen, but I hope you could receive my wish. I have planned to buy a ipad2 when I get enough money. I will continue to support you and your Apple. Your story and spirit will live long. Thank you!

Jiaqi from

Rest in peace Steve

Thank you for being who you are and for dragging all the companies to evolve and make human life easier when dealing with computers.

Martin

Thank you

Just want to say that Mr. Jobs and the engineers at Apple are a big reason why I am in the profession that I am today. If it was not for the innovation and vision brought by Steve my life would not be the same. Thank you very much and RIP

Steven

Remembering Steve Jobs

I am so sad to hear Steve Jobs died hours ago. I know it is so hard to have pancreas cancer because my mom died suffering that kind of cancer. Today,I learned to use Iphone and I am so proud to have it in my hands because Steve Jobs created that. May God bless him and be with him in the heaven.

Oscar from Nicaragua

HI: 我来自中国，怀着沉痛的心情，向您致以最崇高的敬意，感谢您改变了世界，一路走好。。。 2011-10-05中国浙江省温州市

Anonymous

Rip Steve Jobs

I'm just an everyday college student, I did not know Jobs personally, yet when I look back on my geeky self as a kid, my most fond, special, and important memories all somehow involve my family's apple computer. We have only ever had apple computers; it seems such an insignificant detail of my early life, but I know that without Steve Jobs and his work, I would be a completely different person. I understand he wasn't the only person working at apple, and there are many others to thank, yet his was the face that I knew and recognized as a child. So I thank you Steve Jobs, you have had a profound effect on my life. RIP Steve Jobs

Graeme

for remembering

The news shocked the world. Steve will remain in our memory for his amazing creation. Rest in peace.

Anonymous

For a Great Man

With my heart broken but in mind all the Great things that He done, and hope that kind of man like Him will be again in this world.... we need. They have brought me so much from creativity to functionality, from Humour to Love, from happiness to sadness. I guess no one can go on forever, I guess all the money in the world can't buy health. Thanks for everything Mr Jobs

Nicholas

A sad day

My condolences to Steve Jobs's family, friends, and colleagues. Apple has made my life as a resident physician easier in many ways. A large part of the innovation deservedly goes to Jobs. Mr. Jobs! I will keep tryin' to still think different! “You know, my main reaction to this money thing is that it’s humorous, all the attention to it, because it’s hardly the most insightful or valuable thing that’s happened to me.” -Steve Jobs “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.” -Steve Jobs RIP Steve Jobs

Bünyamin

Steve

The apple goes back into God's hands. If there is someone that can reach us from heaven and bring hope to this desperate world is Steve.

Florencia

R.I.P

He was my leader, my inspiration. Death is not the end. It is only the beginning. Steve lives with every machine that has been made and will be made. The heartbeat stops, but the soul is still restless. Rest in peace Steve! You are the reason I am typing this mail, from a wonderful device to a wonderful human being!

Ashwin

R.I.P. His father, Jandali, was a Syrian political science professor, and his mother, Schieble, worked as a speech therapist. Shortly after Steve was placed for adoption, his biological parents married and had another child, Mona Simpson. It was not until Jobs was 27 that he was able to uncover information on his biological parents.

The infant was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs and named Steven Paul Jobs. Clara worked as an accountant and Paul was a Coast Guard veteran and machinist. The family lived in Mountain View, California, within the area that would later become known as Silicon Valley. As a boy, Jobs and his father worked on electronics in the family garage. Paul showed his son how to take apart and reconstruct electronics, a hobby that instilled confidence, tenacity and mechanical prowess in young Jobs.
