One form of plagiarism is where an individual replaces a few words from a quote or they use synonyms in place of words. This is considered plagiarism because the words are not your own just because you changed a few words. Another form of plagiarism was using quotes from another source for the majority of your paper, and this is plagiarism because there are no ideas of your own within the paper.

When one copies their own work written earlier, it is considered plagiarism because one is claiming that it is a new idea when it is not. Another is when you copy and paste the source but change every other word using a thesaurus because it still isn't your own ideas. It will even be glaringly obvious especially since synonyms have different connotations and will drastically change the meaning of the writing.

Two types of plagiarism that stuck out to me were the "Wild Goose Chase" method and the "Selective Amnesia." The Wild Goose Chase method seems like more work than actually doing the correct citing, it's where someone makes up fake sources to hide plagiarism. You can avoid this by simply citing the correct sources 100% of the time. The Selective Amnesia method is also pretty low, it's where you cite certain things from a source correctly while you present other ideas of the sources as your own. You can avoid this by being original and coming up with your own content to add to your works.

This is considered plagiarism because the person doing this is trying to pass of others’ ideas as their own.

The wild goose chase technique is one in which plagiarists try to cover up their plagiarism by implementing fake book titles, authors, and page numbers into their paper. These plagiarists also take the basic idea and sentence structure from an original work and put them into their paper, trying to pass it off as their own by switching some of the words in the sentence with synonyms. This is considered plagiarism because, once again, the plagiarist is stealing someone else’s idea and trying to pass it off as their own.

There is even something called self-plagiarism. Someone could search one sentence from the work that was presented and find multiple things. It’s also someone trying to make it seem like somebody else’s work is theirs.

The wild goose chase technique in younger terms could be also called the switcheroo method. These people copy work, but then use fake sources like authors, book pages, or even titles. Paraphrasing is big dealing with this technique. This plagiarism basically because its somebody else’s work.

That is when somebody doesn't even realize that they are copying the work or ideas of other people but still use the work. Another way they can do this is if they forget to give the proper people credit for their work by including the proper information in their citations.

Another plagiarizing technique is the self plagiarize technique. That is when somebody tries to use their own past work trying to get out of having to write a few more words or even whole paragraphs or just the whole paper or assignment. This is considered plagiarism because even if the previous work is done by you, the point of it is that you had no orignal thoughts and it is still considered taking the work from another person even if it is yourself.i
