Rose's father also seems to spend a lot of time at The Luck of The Irish and worries about being a good father. Rose has seemingly adapted to her fathers behavior and even knows how to react if he comes home a certain way. I feel that Rose is closer to her uncle than her dad. Also, I like this book so far. The descriptions provided by Rose help to make you understand the book better. The characters feel real instead of fictional and so far the homonyms and homophones are cool to hear!

Rose's day at school consists of her calling out and being very irritated when someone doesn't follow the rules. Rose is very strictly bound down by her routine and even refuses to eat a different lunch than usual. This happens because of her Aspergers syndrome and she is unable to control this. It seems that some of the kids in the school ( in example her lunchroom buddies) seem to be slightly annoyed by this descriptiveness and need to be perfect that Rose may struggle to have friends. After school Rose gets picked up by her uncle and then they drive home. Rose's uncle drops her off and Rose goes inside to meet Rain. If it is nice out Rose and Rain will sit on the porch if not they will stay inside. Rose also walks Rain. Every four months Rose looks through a box that was what was left behind by her mother. After that Rose does her homework and starts dinner. Rose expresses some serious concern yet her father spares no sympathy to this poor girl. He seems to be stating this in an irritated tone and has no drive to make him want to help Rose. This leads me to believe that Rose's father is not sorry for letting Rain out. Also, he knew that there was a chance the storm would hit and paid no special attention to outside his house, and If he had actually let Rain out just an hour before should have he noticed the flooding start? This seemed to have massive floods with raging waters so I can't imagine it has happened all in one hour. Also, I think that Rain got swept up by the water and was brought to the end of where the water would take her. Deciding what made you sad was hard for me because there were many upsetting things in the last few chapters. Some of the other things that could have also had made you sad was when we learn that Rose's dad has been lying about Rose's mom. But I think that those were some of the saddest parts of the ending.If I could change the ending I would make it end with them getting more pets and describing what their life is like now. I want it to be like this because I felt a lack of imaginable continuation of the story. I wanted to know more of what they experience now.
