Usually has warm temperatures year round, with two prolonged dry seasons, and abundant rain the rest of the year. African tropical savannas have lots of herds of grazing (grass and herb eating) and browsing (twig and leaf nibbling) hoofed animals. Covered in grass and scattered with trees that the animals have evolved to specialize their eating habits for. The soil is porous, with only a thin layer of humus provided the plants and animals, which provides vegetation with nutrients.

These biomes consist of cone bearing evergreen forests in a cold climate. They are found in the northern regions of North America, Asia, and Europe. Winters are long and dry, but extremely cold. Summers are short with mild to warm temperatures.

The flora in this biome are evergreen trees like spruce, fir, cedar, hemlock, and pine. These trees keep there leaves (bristles) all year long. The soil in this environment is extremely hard to grow in because decomposing conifer needles makes the ground acidic and nutrient poor. However certain specialized shrubs can survive on the forest floor.
