Economic issues- There was also a result of British imperialism in China, like them being forced to sign treaties, lost control of trading ports by other nations, and have been excluded from these ports. You can see how this had become an issue to the economy because some of the wealth was decreasing in China.
Political issues- China was under the rule of the Qing Dynasty and it was not able to maintain control over the growing population.
