In this activity, you will write and present a story using Simple Past and Past Continuous tenses, incorporating adverbs of comment (e.g., fortunately, unfortunately) and adverbs of manner (e.g., quickly, carefully). Follow these steps to ensure a clear and engaging narrative:

1. Writing the Story:

Characters and Setting: Begin by introducing your main characters. Describe them physically and emotionally to help your readers connect with them. Also, describe the setting in detail—where and when the story takes place, as well as any relevant background information.

Chronological Order: Make sure your story flows smoothly. Present the events in the order they happened, moving from one point to the next without confusing jumps. Use time markers (e.g., "suddenly," "after a while") to guide your reader through the sequence of events.

Problem and Solution: Introduce a conflict or problem that your characters face. Make it clear and compelling so that the reader is invested in how it will be resolved. Conclude with a logical solution or resolution to the problem.

Use of Grammar and Adverbs:

Incorporate Simple Past for actions completed in the past (e.g., "She ran to the store").

Use Past Continuous to describe ongoing actions in the past (e.g., "She was running when she saw the dog").

Add adverbs of comment to express opinions or judgments about events (e.g., "Fortunately, they arrived on time").

Include adverbs of manner to describe how actions are performed (e.g., "He walked slowly").

2. Making the Video:

Storytelling: Record a video where you narrate your story. Use proper rhythm and intonation to keep your audience engaged. Practice emphasizing important moments, and pause for dramatic effect when necessary.

Body Language: If you are visible in the video, use gestures and facial expressions to bring your story to life. Your tone of voice should match the mood of the events—excited during action scenes, calm during reflection, etc.

Pronunciation and Fluency: Ensure clear pronunciation and smooth delivery. Avoid rushing, and practice speaking at a pace that’s easy to follow.

Upload your video on Youtube as unlisted, then copy and past the video link here.

3. Peer Feedback:

Watch and Comment: After everyone has posted their video, watch at least two of your classmates' stories. Write a thoughtful comment for each video. Your feedback should:

Mention something you enjoyed or found interesting about their story.

Provide constructive criticism on areas such as their use of grammar, adverbs, rhythm, or body language.

Offer any suggestions for improvement.
