Thanks to the help of Dr. Richardson and Dr. Zaugg and his son, 3D printed masks are being made to combat the shortage of medical supplies. To make a mask, a mold was created that can be adjusted from person to person. Than a patch taken from a standard medical mask to fill the whole in the mask, which creates a filter. Each mask takes two hours to make and the production price is only a dollar! Another amazing thing about the masks is that since they are made of plastic, they can be cleaned and used again up to 10 times! Billings Medical Center joined by HighTech Filers are now able to mass produce these masks and get them to healthcare workers in need. I was successful at making the functions and restrictions but I would have placed the functions differently if I was to do this again.
