First it caused many men and women to be executed for practicing "Witchcraft." Knowing that many people are being accused of being a witch this caused lots of anarchy around Salem. Second, the Salem Witch Trails caused society to be divided between the poor and the rich. This gap caused the poor to accuse the rich of being witches possibly trying to gain more power and wealth (Doc E). One of the main reason was fear. Fear of being accused of being a witch, and fear of being abducted by a witch. According to Document A, 20 people were killed after being accused of witchcraft, in 1692. This spread fear to everyone. Especially to married women between the ages of 41-60 and on the eastern side of the Salem Village. All of the people were accused were either hung or pressed to death. Not only were people being killed, but they killed all of the "witches" accused that month at one time. This could have just been because they wanted to get everyone killed at one time and not have to constantly redo everything. ALthough, it was most likely due to causing a spectacle to enhance the fear (created by the powerul.) (Document A) Also,  as mentioned in Document D, people "became intoxicated... by the terrible success."
