Selfish
“Something eating you up like a crazy man. Something more than me not giving you this money. The past few years I been watching it happen to you. You get all nervous acting and kind of wild in the eyes—“ (p. 72)

Explanation: This quote show Walter is selfish because it show that all he is caring about is the money. Also, how he is not focusing on his family and can he do to take care of them. Acts childish over a situation that is not that serious or more important than the entire family situation. Walter thinks since he is the man in the house then everything should go his way.

Inconsiderate
“WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE LISTEN TO ME TODAY!” (P. 70)

This quote reveals that Walter is inconsiderate because he wants everyone to listen to him and follow his plan. Instead of listening to his mama, his wife, and his sister Ruth, he is basically ignoring what they want for they family or what's best for the family. Everything must go his way, everything must be the way he wants it to be. If he listens to his family and took their idea into consideration, then maybe Walter wouldn't be arguing or screaming at his family so they can listen to him.

My opinion on Walter is that he is confused on what he really want for his family. Walter wants things that makes him happy but he also wants to make his family happy. I believe Walter is a good person because he show throughout the story that he care for his family, and that he wanna do whatever he think is best for his family. Also, Walter want to make money and have the family financially stabled.

This Image relates to Walter in many ways. Such as the man looking frustrated. Walter job is not a great job but he have to deal with because he have to take care of his family. Just like in the image, the man looks like he unhappy with his job and that he had enough of it. The picture is trying to say that there are gonna be times in life that you gonna have to do things you don't like or don't wanna do but deep inside you know you have to care of yourself and do whatever you have to do to make money

On line 10 it says "poverty shows, how many immature person rule the country". That line relates to Walter because he was being childish about not getting the money for the liquor store. Poverty can make some go into depression and change them into a cruel person just like Walter going to get drunk after being told he wasn't getting the money.

I related Walter to " A Change Gone Come", by Sam Cooke. In the song, He talks about how hard he is living in this horrible world, but deep inside he knows that a change is gone come. It relates to Walter because he is in a situation where he gotta figure out on how he gonna take care of his family when they're in are in a poverty situation. Also on line 3 it states " but I know a change gone come, oh yes it will". Walter believes that something good is going to happen if he takes the money for the liquor store or for the new house.

Money tends to control families
Mama: “Son, how come you talk so much ‘bout money?” Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom use to be life—now its money. I guess the world really do change…” Walter: “No—it was always money, Mama. We just didn’t know about it.” p. 74
The quote supports the theme because it shows how money has a effect on Walter and his family. Walter thinks all you need in life is money and mama is trying to explain to him that it's not true. Yes money makes a effect on family but it's not life. Obviously money controlled Walter and from that he messed up the family.
