Suicide is the third leading reason for deaths. About 4,400 people take their life a year and 14 percent of high school students consider suicide and about 7 percent attempts suicide. In schools about 30 percent of kids are bullies. Kids that were bullied consider taking their life 2-9 times more than kids who weren’t bullied. Girls from age 10-14 usually are at higher risk of commiting suicide. Everyday 160,000 kids stay home because of bullies. In the website Health Enews it states “Nearly half of the teen bullies grew up to participate in lawless activities including theft, burglary and assault, the study showed”, this shows that many teens can start their life as a criminal in high school. They will probably do drugs and convict felonies. Bully-victims (people who were bullied and bullied people) are likely to  get diagnosed with serious illness, psychiatric disorder, and recover slowly from illness. The bullied kids have higher chances of suffering from depression and anxiety. Bullied kids usually get a lot less healthy physically and mentally than bullies. As bullied kids got older they had a lower self esteem and got less healthy. The kids that were bullied usually struggled a lot more socially. William Copeland is an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University Medical Center. He and his colleagues used a database that followed 1,420 kids that were followed from age 9 to 21. Throughout that period of time they were tested 9 different times. The website “Time” stated this, “ They were asked about their bullying experiences, and researchers took their blood to measure things like C-reactive protein (CRP), a marker for inflammation that is an important for predictor of heart disease, among other ailments. The victims of bullying had the highest crp than the others. More people are willing to hurt themselves and even take their life because of what’s happening to them. They grow up more likely to do bad things because they get used to doing bad things.Lastly they feel mentally and physically worse because they start to care less about themselves. Not many people are noticing that people are being bullied and that can lead to a bigger cause and effect because the bully feels that they can keep bullying if nobody puts an end to it. Some people that do see bullying don’t try to stop it or tell anyone and that doesn’t help people.
