The fist step to overcoming is to learn and become more knowledgeable in the subject. An issue that has emerged is teen suicide rising because, of online classes & a new school environment. Students are feeling the pressure and stress of being educated online and the lack of social connection (Mehrolia, 2020). Educators needs to beware of this as they teach student online and make sure they are continuing to check up on them. We have to find ways to connect with students even in a new world of technology. Know the warning signs of suicide and report any suspicious behavior right away

Do not withhold any dangerous information from a student for any reason, let the appropriate authority know 

Speak openly and honestly about suicide, students will feel more welcome to share their feelings

Continue school wide trainings on suicide prevention, so all staff members are up-to-date with laws and interventions

Do not release students from your supervision if you believe they are going to self-harm, wait for the appropriate support

Refer students and families to the appropriate care provider
