Students will be using a talk to text program to help them with writing their alternative scene. They will use this in both the planning and creation stage of their assessment task.

Lesson 1

This lesson is intended for the second half of the term. Students have previously read the novel and watched the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone film. In previous lessons this week, we have explored the themes and characters of the text. In this lesson, students will explore "setting" and its impact on the story. Using Google Earth students will map the filming locations of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and analyse its significance to the scene and overall film. Students will continue to develop their descriptive language by doing our 5 senses activity and completing their planning sheets for their short story.
