The accused women appears to be casting witchcraft on the audience such as the man laying on the floor which did happen during these trials. Grace: the free gift of salvation given to us by God. Puritan community was a theocracy which blends church and state. City upon a hill theory: that the new colony would be a place of complete reform where God would be found in scripture and a strong work ethic. Dorothy Good was four or five years old when she was accused of witchcraft. By the end of 1692, over 200 people were jailed and were accused of witchcraft. Many men and women were hanged and one man was crushed to death by stones.
