In the story, Mr. Wolf is kind because in the story he wants to make a change and help other people out to prove to people that he can be kind to everyone. A quote to show you what I mean is when Mr. Wolf says that "We'd never run from a fight like this, would we?" I would save the mom because she does a lot for people, for example, she and her daughter, Raina were both sick from Raina's older sister. While she was sick, she took care of herself and Raina. She didn't want the cold to get the best of it so she took over and tried to make it better for her child. She puts her child before herself and then she worries about herself.This is why I would save her.
