The Superbowl is the last game of the season in the NFL, the National Football League. This is the biggest single game event in the entire world. There are 36 teams that can eventually end up in the Superbowl. The first need to play in groups of four. The best ones go on to play in the knockout rounds of the NFL. This last game is the Superbowl. More than 50 million people in the United states watch this game. Over the last years a certain life style has developed while watching the super bowl. This lifestyle is a typical American lifestyle. Like with most football games the fans, who got an ticket for the game (the cheapest tickets are 1500 USD) will tailgate in front of the stadium. This means they will sit there, barbeque and drink a lot of beers. This also happens before the Superbowl. The people who did not procured a ticket for the game will go home early, drink beer too and watch the game on television This usually in combination with several chicken wings or other typically American snacks. This Superbowl, Superbowl 51 is eventually won by the New England Patriots with a historical comeback of 25 points.

Here is a list of consumptions peopleeat during a Superbowl Game

The Economic downfall after the collapse of the housing market

America the most capitalistic country in the entire world. The land of opportunity. The land the almost ruined the world’s economy. The last economic crisis started in America with the collapse of the housing market. America had gone too far with their capitalistic lifestyle. The bonuses that were given to people were enormous. This actually only made crisis worse. The bankers got bonusses when gave loans to people. Bankers just wanted to get filthy rich. Although there is a certain amount of good loans that can be given by the banks. This did not stop the bankers from giving loans to people. A lot of the people with lower incomes got loans too but they could not pay the interest. The houses or cars the bought with their loans were sold again or repossessed. The banks sold these mortgages to investment firms as they were labeled a triple A investment (which means the risk of losing your money was really low). They earned a lot of money with this so they started to give people with lower incomes loans too. This went on for such a long time that it had to collapse. Eventually it did. Nowadays we still see the effects of the economic crisis, where big banks went broke. But we are almost out of it, waiting for a new disaster to occur.
There is a movie about these stories, The big short. It is a very interesting movie.

The attack on 9/11: conspiracy theories

One of the best know conspiracy theories regarding 9/11 is that the American government carried out this attack. Oil is the most important thing in the society at this moment. Cheap oil is very important for the economy for big countries like the United states of America. The United State government wanted to expand their influences to the middle-east. In the middle-east there is a lot of relatively cheap oil. It is of great economic benefit if they will sell it to the United States for a low price. America wanted to invade the middle-east to make sure there was enough peace and stability to buy the cheap oils.

So what are you going to do when you want to expand your business. There are a lot of corrupt dictators and government there. So they invented ‘the war on terror’. This actually was a secret plan to enlarge their influence in the middle-east.

They had to do something big to awake the hatred against some of the population there. This is were the attacks of 9/11 came into place. They would blow up their two biggest buildings and send a plane to the white house(to make sure no one suspected them) and they blew up their buildings.

The war on terror and the expanse of the American influence could begin…. At least according to the conspiracy theories.

Weed legalization

The one thing in the world the Netherlands are most known for……. Drugs. The drug laws in the Netherlands are very clear and very different than in the United States. There is a difference between softdrugs (weed, shrooms) and harddrugs(XTC, Cocaine and Heroin). In the Netherlands you can hold soft and harddrugs for your own consumption. This means it is not illegal to use drugs like here in the US. That was till last year. Last year weed was legalized in states like California, Washington and Colorado. These legalizations are changing the way weed is sold in America. First you needed a medical pass to buy weed and you could use it too with this pass. Now there are a lot of new shops who sell a whole variety of weed. You can choose of a weaker one with no body effects or a really strong one.

The weed legalization where the Netherlands are so proud is in danger. Certain states in the the United States of America have now looser laws on the use and the possession of weed. Do we need to worry that this will also happen with the harddrugs or will the United states stay wise and do not legalize this too? That is the question for today.
