For this project, we used oil pastels to create our own version of Starry Night. My theme was the same landscape and large tree, but with different bright colors that remind me of different seasons. Originally, the colors were supposed to be just autumn or fall colors, but eventually many colors entered the spectrum. I chose this drawing because I like the way the colors go together and the sky with the original swirls and stars.

I created a "starry morning" set in L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz. To the left is the Emerald Palace, and in the signature swirly sky is an ominous tornado, the wicked witch, and of course, the flying monkeys. While drawing, I wondered a lot on what to draw in the sphere. I didn't want it to be too hard, but not meaningless. As you can see, I drew a humanoid with the head of the Earth. There are gears in the background. I tried to show a little dystopian theme that the being was humanity, able to look at the gears only when looking into the sphere (which is open for interpretation.) I had a lot of fun with the drawing and I want people to have a fun time interpreting the art in their own way!

Since purple and teal are my favorite colors, I mixed watercolors together to make shades that were deep and vibrant, and then painted my fish and a splash of dark water around it. I also drew lily pads, flowers, and the occasional frog to add some detail to the water. I loved this project because the simplicity of the fish and the beautiful colors make the end result beautiful and realistic.

In my portrait, I drew a girl that looks somewhat like myself (but originally that was not my intention), and made her background a light blue sky with flowers that are growing out of her head. From the expression on her face, it is meant to look like she is thinking so hard that flowers are growing out of her head. I liked this project because it looks natural and the bright colors contrast with the pencil lines of the person, so it gives an interesting color scheme.
