Climate Change has had an impact on water levels for years and years. Many people dont realize how much their actions and companies actions have an effect on the worlds water levels. But everything begins to add up and stack on top of eachother. There are plenty of ice burgs and ice sheets being melted.

At the end of the century, the global temperature levels are expected to rise 3°C. This will be the cause for the majority of the West Antarctica ice sheet to melt resaulting in the raise of the water levels approximately 5 extra meters.

Climate Change is an issue that is impacting people globally by causing an increase in weather changes, temperature changes, threatens food production, and rising sea levels.

The majority of climate change is caused by human activities mainly because of the burning of fossil fuels like coal, gas, and oil. Climate change is also caused by heat being trapped in our atmosphere. Once abnormal amounts of heat is being prisoned in our atmosphere, change in our climate will begin to occur.

Reports say that capping the global temperature rise at 1.5°C will be better for our society. People also thin kthat capping it at 2°C would be better because 1.5°C would need rapid change. If we wanted to cap the rise at 1.5°C we would have to sustain and control the release of green house gases and cut emissions in half by 2030.

As more and more ice melts, the world will absorb more heat into its atmosphere. The increase of heating will end in more common weather appearances such as: storms, floods, fires and droughts across our earth. This is a direct cause of Fossil fuel

In the 1800's, the global temperature was around 14.73°C. As the year went on, we have discovered that there was an increase by 2.43°F or 1.35°C. Currently, the years 2014-2023 are in the top 10 wamrest years recorded.

Polar Bear Habitat Loss

There are many animal groups which are constantly being put through adaption due to climate change. Animals are at loss of their habitats, they have less food, and the heating of the world is effecting their health.

Polar bears are currently being threatened with habitat loss and being forced to live elsewhere. Many polar bears create their homes on ice sheets, but the heating from climate change has taken those ice sheets away drastically.

Greenhouse Gases

Gases that are released from certain causes and trap heat in our atmosphere are called greenhouse gases. You could also say that greenhouse gases act as an invisible glass panel which trap heat inside of our atmosphere - this is why it was given the name "Greenhouse Gas".

There are many different gas emissions but the one that makes up for most of the heating in our atmosphere is Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Carbon dioxide is a type of gas usually produced by burning fossil fuels - coal, natural gas, and oil.

There are many things that we do that can release greenhouse gases without even realizing it. Some of these are daily uses such as cars, electricity, industry, etc.

How Can We Contirbute to Lessen Climate Change?

Climate change is impacted by electricity and heat use. The majority of our electricity is power by coal, oil, and gas. If we want to help contribute to preventing climate change there are many little steps we can do to help.

Saving energy at home

Solution 1: Adapting to start changing the temperature of your air conditioning more efficiently can reduce the amounts of greenhouse gases which are being emitted. During hot days, if you adjust the air conditioning to be warmer than usual or open the windows instead of using access electrcity can create an impact on reducing emitted gases. During colder days, you can slightly cahnge the air conditioning to be colder than what you would normally have it on. Using natural ways for heat and cooling will prodominally emit less greenhouse gases compared to relying on electricity.

Solution 2: When washing your clothes, choosing to use cold water instead of heated water can change the amounts of emitted gas from your laundy macheines. When drying your clothes, deciding to either air dry your clothes wether its hung up outside or laying down over chairs over using the drying machine will make a difference. You may not think it helps, but all of these actions will lead to a healthier earth.

Transportation

When needing to travel a short to medium distance, picking to bike, scooter, or even walk will be both healthier for yourself and your surroundings. Cars alone are expected to be emitting 4.6 metric tons (10141.3 pounds) of CO2 per year. If you multiply that number to all of the people driving cars across the years, you will get the amount of CO2 being emitted each year. If you decide to take a public transit instead of a car for yuorself, this will also help the issue of climate change. One public bus can carry up to 30-60 people depending on the bus. These buses take away 30-60 people and their cars per ride. Instead of 30-60 people using their own cars, it could be 30-60 people all using on the same vehicle. Taking the bus will help emit less and less CO2. overtime. Choosing to carpool with people will also help reduce the amounts of CO2 being released by vehicles each year.

Food and Environmental cleaning

When choosing what to eat, eating vegitables, grains, and fruits instead of meat, are just about the best option when considering the effects of climate change. Producing plant based foods are also an amazing option to reduce greenhouse gases.
When finishing with your food, if there is still food left from what you ate, you should revise your options and choose to store the excess food somewhere other than a garbage can or on the street will help solve the topic of climate change. When throwing away food, there is a good chance you are also throwing away wrappers, plastics, or bags with that meal. These plastics will build up and produce greenhouse gases. The food that you once threw away will eventually rot and release traces of methane which is a dominent greenhouse gas.
Cleaning up your environment by getting waste off of the streets will result in a powerful change in CO2 emitions. Think before you decide not to throw your chocolate bar wrapper in its proper disposal. Per year, there is an averaged 2 billion tons of trash which has been tossed by humans. An estimated third of which will results in environmental damage.

The Way I live

Climate change has made a huge difference in my life today compared to what it would be like centuries ago. I have noticed a number of things that I have had to overcome and adapt to over the last bit of years. My surroundings, environment, lifestyle, choices; are all examples of what climate change impacts regarding myself. There are many things that I have became much more cautious about as my life goes on. A list of these things are:

The food I eat

What I'm throwing out
Where I'm disposing of waste
How I use electricity
My daily activities and their time

My Understanding

My understanding of climate change has definitely changed during this project. Prior to this project, I understood what climate change was. But I didn't know the depth of the consequences to our daily actions and what kind of path we are giving the future. Before I would do careless things that could effect my environment let alone the earth. My original thought would be something like "Its just one person and one problem" thinking my actions didn't matter. But after my research, I have come to the conclusion that what I was thinking could be everyone's thoughts meaning no one took responsibility for their actions or cared enough to think twice about their actions. Now that I am pushing the end of this project, I have realized and understood the affects of our actions and how they will impact our society on climate change.

I now feel stronger about this issue than I ever did. After knowing all about climate change I think that people need to start realizing what I have about this global issue. If we keep up with our actions and emissions of greenhouse gases. Our future will be hotter than it ever was. The global temperature will keep rising overtime. Eventually, it will be too late to take action upon this crisis.

This is why I believe that the global community should begin addressing this issue and take immense measures to solve/reverse the issue.
