This tool is great in that students learn to use a tool that’s used beyond education and learning these tools can help students in the workplace in many jobs. The file formats are used globally.

2. Click on the assigned study set.

3. For each flash card read side 1 and try to determine the tone.

4. Click on the flashcard to navigate to the back of the flashcard to check your answer.

5. Then click on the arrow to advance to the next flash card. Continue until all flashcards have been practiced 2 times.

6. In the last 10 minutes of class, enter the link and code to the Quizlet game, or scan the QR code with your phone to join the class game. All questions in the game will be based on the flashcards.

2. You will see a window that says, "You are joining Ms. Gough's Sample Class." There are two options in that window: create a new account or log in. If you already have an account you can log in to your Khan Academy account and our class will be added to your account. If you do not have an account, you can create one.

3. In your account, go to Learner Dashboard.

4. Then click on "My Assignments"

5. There is 1 assignment called, "Analyzing Tone Through Word Choice."

6. Click on the blue "start" button next to the assignment.

7. Play the video. Watch it all the way through. You may also use the transcript of the video.

8. When you've finished the video, click on "Next Up: Exercise." This will take you to a passage to read and questions about the tone of the passage. Answer each question. Khan Academy will notify you if your answer is correct or incorrect.

9. When you are finished reading the text and answering the questions click, "done."

10. Then do our Quizlet activity, Activity 2.
