Classical Conditioning
This is learning through association and was discovered by Pavlov a Russian Physiologist. In simple term two stimuli are linked together for a new learned response in a person or animal.

In Pavlov's famous example would be the experiment with his dog. When he heard the bell, he was fed. The dog learned bell equals food.
Also, the other famous experiment was the one with humans which was the case of Little Albert.

As a biologist, Piaget was interested in how an organism adapts to its environment (Piaget described as intelligence.) Behavior (adaptation to the environment) is controlled through mental organizations called schemes that the individual uses to represent the world and designate action. This adaptation is driven by a biological drive to obtain balance between schemes and the environment (equilibration)” Dewey, (1997). On the other hand, Bandura’s social learning theory according to Akin (1999) says that “in the experimental method, the standard procedure is to manipulate one variable, and then measure its effects on another. All this boils down to a theory of personality that says that one’s environment causes one’s behavior. Thereby proving to the assertion that both theories have a bearing on behaviorism.

Piaget believed that people create their own understanding of the word. As they move through the four stages of development, they construct new experiences to build on those acquired in previous stages. He argued that children develop a sense of self as an object in space only after they have developed a sense of the existence of objects near the end of the sensorimotor stage (Cherry, 2020). During the preoperational stage, this development of self might seem egocentric, whereas at this stage, they lack the tools to express proper emotional responses to other people's feelings and emotions.

Moral and intellectual development in children are closely related. Morality refers to the norms and behaviors that are generally accepted by society, and a sense of what is right and what is wrong (McLeod, 2015). Piaget was most interested in children's moral reasoning, three specific areas in particular: their understanding of rules, moral responsibility, and justice (McLeod, 2015). Piaget came to the conclusion that as children develop cognitively, they also evolve in terms of moral and emotional intelligence.

Gender constancy refers to children's development of a sense of gender and their eventual understanding that their biological sex is permanent (Santrock, 2020). Sandra Bem used Piaget's schema model to introduce her own schema theory, explaining how gender roles and differences became one of the main organizational structures in society. Gender schemas help children understand their role and place in society. This cognitive structure allows them to apply a variety of schemas that are gender-specific in order to form a better self-concept based on their biological sex(Santrock, 2020).

Jean Piaget (1896-1980) was a Swiss psychologist known for his Theory of Cognitive Development. His theory investigated how children gain a better understanding of the world through cumulative experiences(Santrock, 2020). He divided their development into fours stages. Sensorimotor (0-2), Preoperational (2-12), Concrete operational (7-12) Formal operational (12 into adulthood). He claimed with each stage children gain a better understanding of the world and build on their experiences as they pass through the four developmental stages.
