They struggled to end the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz.

Their Revolution became a difficult power struggle between many presidents and some powerful rebel leaders. It was a long, bloody, struggle among serval factions in some constantly shifting alliances. It resulted ultimately in the end of the 30th year of dictatorship in Mexico and the establishment of a constitutional republic.

In Europe, they were organizing its own revolts in the states of the Italian Peninsula and Sicily. There were led by the intellectuals and the agitators who desired a liberal government. There was one important leader named, "Giuseppe Mazzini" and he was basically the conspirer for the Revolution of Italy with the help of his own secret societies. The Italy Revolution was deeply encouraged by the French Revolution, but the revolts were breaking out which it was only in Central Italy.

It was marked for the first time in the history of the 41 year old republic that a constitutionally elected government was overthrown by its own force. According to Brazilian History, it had been called a turning point as dramatic as the change from the empire to the republic. The Brazilians tried to kick out their Portuguese rulers, but the rebellion was soon to be putted down and it started its own work of movement towards the Independence. When the military leaders and some landowners expelled the powerful king, Brazil officially became a federal republic.

The Cuban Revolution was a small affair which it compared at the counterpart in Mexico.

Brazil was very unique in the fact that they had established an empire which was following to its own independence.

The period of Brazilian history ended with a military coup which is also known as the Brazilian Revolution of 1930 that installed Getulio Vargas as a dictator.
