They urged all merchants to stop buying British goods too send a message of ascendance and  Independence. At the helm of this turmoil stood the Sons of Liberty.          <description><![CDATA[<p>In Boston early summer 1765 a group of shopkeepers and artisans who called themselves the Stamp act</p><p>The first widely known act of the Sons of Liberty took place on August , 14 1765 when an effigy of Andrew Olliver(who was commisioned distrubutor of stamps in Massuchusetts was found hanging on Newbury street along with a large boot near his foot with a devil crawling out of it.</p><p>Their most popular objective was to force stamp distrubutors in the colony to resign</p><p>The two men that could generate public attention for the hanging were Benjamin Edes and John Gill</p><p>Steven Grenier</p><p>The first sentence does not make sense.
