Throughout the entirety of Ariella’s childhood, her life was well balanced between the wizarding world and the world of the muggles. Prior to her acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she attended a private school in Berkshire, so her school years were spent following the mundane routines of the muggle world. But during breaks, her father would take her on adventures into the world of magic. She would explore enchanting places that her mother could never understand, meet creatures that a human with no affinity for magic could even dream existed, and she loved every second of it.

When she was 11, Ariella’s acceptance letter to Hogwarts arrived. With excitement and the knowledge that her father had bestowed upon her, she set off for the school. Her years up until university had gone smoothly for the most part, she was intelligent and social, so adjusting to Hogwarts came naturally to her, despite her half-blood status. Her only real issue came with her classes in Defense Against the Dark Arts. As someone that abhorred violence (but was known to stand her ground when provoked), she was not naturally gifted in dueling. Offensive magic was difficult for her and even defensive magic took great difficulty to learn. 

Her true talents existed in Herbology, Potions, and Care for Magical Creatures. She has always loved gardening and interacting with animals/magical creatures. She has a way with the creatures that would make some believe that she can talk to them. This is not true, but somehow they do seem to connect with her on a level that they often don’t with others. These talents of hers inspired her to become a healer, but specifically a healer of magical creatures.

ariella and y/n met early in their time at Hogwarts and became quick friends (details of this can be developed when the connection is taken). despite ariella being a lively, social person and y/n being more calm and reserved, they were drawn to each other’s energies. y/n is the first person ariella turns to when she needs advice, or just wants some company. y/n’s calm nature soothes her in her times of unrest and she treasures their friendship dearly.

when ariella’s father married a muggle woman, many of his pureblood friends disagreed with his decision. he lost a lot of friends that he had made over the years, however one very loyal friend remained. y/n is the son/daughter of that friend, and met ariella when they were small children. they often played together in their free time and spent summers exploring the magical world together. as they grew older, their paths continued to cross at hogwarts, but their connection in the present can either be close or distant depending on how we wish to develop them.

Inspired by the song “a million pretty pieces” by fleurie and nightly. y/n was the first person that ariella truly loved. naively, she would do anything and everything just to make them happy because their love was addictive to her. each kiss and touch intoxicated her, and she would let y/n break her into pieces just to experience the high of being with them. when it ended, she was a mess, her smile gone. it took time for her to bring herself back to the person she was before them, but even now she still feels a stab of pain when she passes them in the halls of hogwarts.

inspired by the song “black coffee” by nightly. ariella often has trouble sleeping, and during these times she will sneak out of her room to explore the school. she ran into y/n one night and the two decided to sneak into the kitchens for a cup of coffee and some snacks. this has become a common occurrence, where ariella and y/n meet outside of the kitchens and spend the whole night, drinking coffee and talking about their lives. this connection can also be intimate and nsfw, but it doesn’t have to be if the other mun doesn’t wish for it to be!
