Take a moment, be proud of the work you have accomplished in CO150. I want you to take something from everything we have done in class, and create something from anything we have done in class that shows how you understand the concept or idea, and post it on here. Make sure you put your name on your work, and label what it is. Congrats to all of you for making it thus far, and taking this class with me. It's been my pleasure watching each of you develop as people and moving forward.

Writing as a Conversational Model “

Example A Model United Nations Conference

Listen: When other
representatives of countries are giving speeches listening is important to
understand where each country stands on issues.

Join the Conversation: As a country you want to gain a
further understanding of what each country thinks is an effective solution to
the problem. The most effective way is
to join the conversation as ask them questions that you may have.

Expand: After
listening to all of the countries and their stances synthesize the ideas into a
resolution that most of the countries will hopefully vote for.

What Is Rhetoric?

Rhetoric:
The language that is intended to influence people and that may not be honest or
reasonable. It is the art or skill of speaking or writing formally and
effectively as a way to persuade or influence people.

How do I Define Rhetoric?

Rhetoric
is the strategy of persuasion. If you use rhetoric well, people will believe
you are credible and informed, therefor you are convincing. More importantly if
you understand rhetoric well you are a better listener. One who understands
rhetoric is never fooled by fallacies and can make a informed decision on what
they believe about someone’s argument.

“The weaker the argument the louder and more

frequent the rhetoric.” – Ken Poirot
