The Tarrasque in the Dungeons and Dragons game is named after the mythical monster called the "Tarasque". In the story of the "Tarasque" the monster is charmed and weakened by a woman and then killed when brought back to civilization. The story is similar to "The Beauty and the Beast".

https://youtu.be/T4sVmnfz9Wk
Watch from 1:04-2:36 for the myth of the Tarasque.

I believe that the Tarrasque is a terrifying monster, this creature does not seem very amusing. The myth of the Tarasque is very interesting as it reminds me of "The Beauty and the Beast". I also find it funny how a beautiful women caused this massive, 50 foot tall beast to become weak.

This monster is 50 feet tall and 70 feet long, and has a "Tyrannosaurus rex" like build. The Tarrasque has brown skin covered with scabs and warts and is generally unclean. It has spikes coming from its chin, mouth, neck, elbows, arms, and its shell. The creature also has two horns projecting from his head. The Tarrasque's skin is very hard and thick, and provides excellent armor. All the anventurers fear this monster, as it can and will swallow things whole.
