University Of The Philippines Diliman, or UPD, is located in Diliman, Quezon City. The University of the Philippines (UP) was established on June 18, 1908, to provide advanced instruction in literature, philosophy, sciences, arts, and professional training to all students. Initially, UP had three colleges: the College of Fine Arts, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Medicine and Surgery in Manila. The need for more buildings and academic units became apparent as the student population grew. 1939, the Board of Regents acquired land in Diliman, Quezon City, but construction stalled during World War II. The university administration sought a P13 million grant from the US-Philippines War Damage Commission to restore damaged facilities. The University of the Philippines Diliman is a modern research university advancing sustainable, innovative, and people-centered national development. This public mission is carried out by a socially engaged community that upholds honor, excellence, and integrity in all areas of research and education. The matriculation fees (i.e., tuition, miscellaneous, and student funds) range from P4,661.50 to P31,490.50 for a maximum of 12 units. The University of the Philippines Diliman also offers the best quality education, especially in courses in Accountancy, Biology, Computer Science, Management, and Psychology programs.
