Today we visited the famous table mountain, first we went to the lift because my dad didn't want to walk to the top. But when we arrived the lift was closed so we had to go by feet. It was a Sunny day so it was not a big drama (without thinking that the walk could take 3 to 4 hours ). So we started, and we went higher and higher... It was realy difficult because the path was small and steep. But on the way to the top there was an amazing view! Near halfway my dad was realy tired so he turned back with my brother. But me and my mum went on... When we were almost at the top the weather changed quickly, there came huge clouds, and everyone at the top went downstairs. But we wanted to go to the top so we went further. finnaly we arrived at the top... But you couldn't even see a meter in front of you, there was a big fog. So we rested a couple of minutes and we turned back. Later we heard that very often a helicopter has to search for tourists that are lost in the fog.

Yesterday we headed for the airport, here we took the plane to Dubai. The flight was really long, but everyone had their own movie screen, and here you could watch a 1000 different movies, so when everyone was asleep I was still watching movies ;)... When we arrived at Dubai we waited a couple of hours and then we took the plane to Cape Town. We landed around midday so first we ate someting on the airport and then we hopped in the car and we drove to our rented cottage. An hour later we arrived and we raced to check out our bedrooms in the house...

It was not so late in the day so we wanted to do something, we went to The Cheetha Outranch. Unfortunately it was closed because of the weather ,yet we could still catch a glimpse of the leopards. After that we went back to our house and we checked tripadvisor for a restaurant with some good reactions. It was soooooo delicious and my dad has even eaten an ostrich!!

This morning we got up early because we had a buzzy day to do. First we hopped in the car and rode to The Cheeta Outranch to try a second time! And lucky for us it was open... First we got a long explanation about how we should behave with the animals to keep it safe, and later we actually met them. After this great experiance we went to Monkey Town, first we went to a lot of cages and here we saw very different types of monkeys. There was even one with a funny hairdo :) Later we went to a big cage with a guide, where a lot of little monkeys and also some parrots lived. The guide gave us nuts and then the animals came to take them, the monkeys were sooo cute!!!

This day we took a car trip to the ocean, (we often stopped next to the road for an amazing view and to take pictures). First we drove to Knysna - you say it like 'nice-na' - our second stop was in Hermanus. There was a lot of wind and rain, but we got out of the car anyway. It was worth it: my dad has seen a whale on the horizon! My brother and I had seen him too but my mom didn't :(. Around one o'clock in the afternoon we stopped to eat. I thought we were in Australia or in an Amercain after-apocalypse movie, it was a small group of 3 houses on an intersection of two roads in the middle of nowhere. Here we all ate a big hamburger with chips, a lot of sauce and no vegetables... When we were finished we headed back on the road. Later we also stopped to wach the sunset. Around nine o'clock we arrived in the b&b.

This morning we had breakfast in a super cool pub. When we all had our belly full, we took the car and rode to Knysna Elephant Sanctuary, here we wanted to ride the elephants but it was all fully booked :( So we only met them, but it was an amazing experiance!! After the elephants we went to Monkeyland, it was a huge fenced area where more than 11 spieces lived together. We could just walk in the area and the monkeys were everywere, my brother had to hold his glasses firmly because otherwise a monkey took them ;) After Monkeyland we went to the Snakepark, first we saw crocodiles and later we came next to a snake pit where our guide just jumpt in! He told us about the pofadder and the black mamba... After that we saw a lot of snakes behind glasses. On the end of the tour we all could pick up little snakes, and my mom and brother even had a boa-constrictor on their neck!! The next day we turned back to our house.

Today we went to see the slums. First we met with Latifa, she was going to guide us. We went on foot into the slums, where we saw the lowest class, where people live in wooden huts or containers. They had no work, no education ... To make money, some women buy sheep heads (because they can not pay anything else), throw them into the fire and scrape the wool off with hot metal. Then they cook the heads, and sell them as lunch. The women smeared their faces with (yellow) fat to protect themselves from the hot fire. Then we went to the middle class, they live in better 'houses'.
