My name is Yasir Syed, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been wearing many hats: youth worker, facilitator, talk show host, founder of an NGO, actor, writer… But if I had to choose one title that truly fits, it would be social entrepreneur — a catalyst of impact.

I’ve always enjoyed challenging the status quo — questioning the things society prefers to keep quiet. About two decades ago, I started my NGO in the Netherlands as a hobby, just to create a space where we could talk about what others wouldn’t. That small idea has since grown roots and branches — locally, with projects and festivals like The Hague Film Festival and The Hague Youth Factory — and internationally, with sister organizations now in Greece, Barcelona, Croatia, and the Dutch Caribbean… with Ireland, Italy, and Austria on the horizon.

In 2016, I discovered the world of Erasmus+, and a year later, together with Dinc, I organized my first project. Since then, I’ve been on a never-ending adventure of youth exchanges, training courses, and strategic partnerships — always returning to the same core: to explore the uncomfortable and turn it into meaningful conversation.

From sex education (Let’s Talk About Sex 1 & 2) to mental health (Quest for Happiness), from death and the afterlife to intercultural learning through LARP (Troy, Valhalla, The Sixth Kingdom, The Pandemic, The Ancients) — I believe storytelling and experience can heal, connect, and transform.

So, that’s me — Yasir. A storyteller in many forms, here not to teach but to ignite curiosity and to remind us all that change often begins with one brave conversation.

I now work across several areas within the City Council, a role that allows me to stay close to my community and help create projects that make a difference.

From an early age, I discovered two passions that have shaped my journey: people and dogs. I spent many years working as an event producer, and in that vibrant, creative, and fast-paced world, I learned how to turn ideas into meaningful experiences. Over time, I realized I wanted to bring together everything I love most — and that’s how I began dedicating myself mainly to events connected to the canine world.

Dogs teach me every day about empathy, presence, and genuine joy. They’re a constant source of inspiration and help me create projects that bring people and animals together in positive and transformative ways.

I’m also a mother, a curious traveler, and a lover of new projects that challenge me to grow. Over the years, I’ve been involved in numerous youth projects and volunteer initiatives, experiences that deeply shaped me and strengthened my belief that change begins with small actions and the example we set.

Today, I live with my heart open to everything new — always eager to learn, share, and inspire. I believe that every project, every person, and every dog that crosses my path is an opportunity to make the world just a little bit better.

I also have experience in psychodrama and group therapy, as well as serving as a translator at international congresses in these fields. Group dynamics are among the topics I am particularly interested in.

Currently, I am an active member of the Scientific Research and Training Committees of the EMDR Turkey Association. I also work as a volunteer psychologist within the EMDR Trauma Recovery Group, providing support during social crises and natural disasters.

At present, I organize psychodramatic workshops for the 3,800-member İzmir Bar Association. I am confident that we will share a wonderful and enriching experience together. I’m truly excited to be part of this project with all of you and look forward to meeting everyone soon

I’ve already had the chance to go on Erasmus for six months at the University of Extremadura in Cáceres, Spain an experience that helped me grow personally, gain independence, and connect with people from all over the world.

I’m passionate about sports, learning, and exploring new places. Traveling makes me feel alive, and I’m always eager to discover different cultures and ways of living.

I’m really excited about this week in Turkey 🤗 I can’t wait to learn, share, and live this experience to the fullest!

I’m from Castelo Branco, Portugal, and one of the most important chapters of my life so far was spending six months in Spain on Erasmus - an experience that helped me become more independent, confident, and open-minded.

Another big part of my story is family, and I’m thrilled to share that I will be traveling to Türkiye with my twin sister, Matilde. Experiencing new cultures together is something very special for us.

Traveling is one of my greatest passions - it’s where I find inspiration, energy, and new perspectives. I truly believe every place and every person has something to teach us, and that curiosity motivates me every single day.

I’m really excited for this new chapter and ready to make the most of every moment -

I’ve been an English teacher for young learners for 25 years. Since 2021, I’ve been living and working in Seferihisar — a lovely town with plenty of opportunities for seniors but not so many for young people. That’s one of the reasons I joined this project: to discover creative ways to help young people get more involved in meaningful activities that benefit both themselves and their community.

I’m not the best at talking about myself, but I’m always curious to learn, share, and grow. Let’s see what this 10-day journey brings — feeling excited as always! 🤗

I work in the wind energy sector, where I actively participate in the development of solutions that promote energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. At the same time, I work on digital marketing projects, helping brands and companies strengthen their online presence through creative, results-oriented strategies.

I am a focused and curious individual who enjoys challenges. I believe that the balance between technology, sustainability, and communication is essential to create a positive impact — both within companies and in society.

Right now, I’m developing a marketing company with a friend. It’s a project that keeps me motivated every day, giving me the chance to apply what I’ve learned and keep growing along the way.

When I’m not working on new ideas, you’ll probably find me playing futsal, traveling, or meeting new people. I love connecting with others, making friends easily, and discovering different perspectives on the world.

I like to live life with good energy, no stress, and always ready for whatever comes next whether it’s a game, a trip, or a new challenge. The key is to give my best and enjoy every moment.

Im eager to meet and work with everyone on this project, learn about Turkish culture and help in anyway necessary to the project.
