The slope of the equation is -2x and the y-intercept is 4. The slope is the rate of change. It tells the steepness of your line. The slope is always has the x on the end in y=mx+b. The slope uses change in y over change in x. It also uses y2-y1 over x2-x1. There are 4 different outcomes of slope names negative, posotive, undefined, and flat. Now the y-intercept. The y-intercept in the starting poing. We also use (0,y-int). The y-intercept in that last equation is replaced by a numebr. The y-intercept is the b in y=mx+b.

The slope is the m of the equation. When the line is horizontal on the graph the slope is 0. When the line is vertical it is undefined, no slope. When the slope is less than 1 it either goes up or down a hill, depends on if the slope is positive or negative. When the slope is greater than 1 it either goes up or down a mountain, depends on if the slope is positive or negative.
The y-intercept is the b of the equation. Its the starting point of the graph. The coordinates of it would be (0,#). It is located where the line crosses the y-axis
