Asserting some people may need some knowledge is not a valid excuse as others are also being forced to learn which is quite annoying. Knowledge conveyed must be tailored to maximize profit and efficiency. All knowledge are unarguably useful but they must be prioritized for personal interest as the life is finite. Self-study should be allowed and lecture attendance should not be mandatory as long as the student prove themselves to be capable of finishing the tasks. Every student has different "habits", including modus operandi of studying (alone or together, online or on campus), sleeping issues (early classes may render low efficiency and cause cascade problems) and being intro/extroverted. Presentations should not be mandatory because it is not suitable for every personality. Its necessity depends on the personal selection of the desired niche in the society. There are people who like to stay in the background and quietly do their jobs. I hope that the university would consider the cultural differences of the international students when it comes to matters like these.
