Year 2 explored Google earth, starting off looking at the globe we then zoomed in recapping on what makes a continent. We discussed Europe and the countries within Europe. We then zoomed in and looked the capital city of the Uk and discussed some of the major cities. We focused on what physical and human features we could see in our town of Farnworth and turned this into our word bank.

10/11/25 Review: Geography ‘Where did the wheels on the bus go?’

Today we reviewed our vocabulary and clarified the meaning. We discussed going on a bus journey and what physical and human features we’d see whilst travelling. The children then worked in partners to create a map of their bus journey. They then discussed their journey in groups.

Today we sampled traditional foods from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. Children sampled scones, shortbread, potato cakes and bars brith. We discussed some of the history behind the foods.
